Kobe or LeBron

The GOAT, Michael Jordan made headlines yesterday by publicly stating that Kobe Bryant is #2 all-time whereas LeBron is #3 all time. Obviously with MJ being #1. While there is a case to be made for both, I believe LeBron is #2 all time, ahead of Kobe. Now Kobe has a more devoted following, so Kobe supporters were quick to point out the obvious.

Yes, Kobe does have five which is more than three. And yes Kobe won two without Shaq whereas LeBron needed Kyrie and Wade. These are both totally valid arguments. But whereas Kobe was basically a Los Angeles MJ 2.0, LeBron changed the game. A 6'9" forward who can seamlessly play all positions was unheard of.

From the moment he stepped into the league in 2003 as the number one overall pick out of high school, all eyes were on him. Whereas Kobe was relatively unknown until he broke out, LeBron was famous since junior year being on the cover of SI named "The Chosen One." Also, LeBron changed the game outside of the court. No other player like Kobe, MJ, Magic, or Bird has switched teams in the middle of their prime. LeBron did it twice!

LeBron's career isn't over so it's too early to judge overall, but in my opinion, he's above Kobe. But it does make sense that MJ would say this, being that Kobe is the closest thing the world will ever see to Jordan. Kobe copied MJ in every way. Where as LeBron isn't a business man, he's a BUSINESS...MAN.
